Split

Split, ancient Roman city was built around the Diocletian palace built 1700 years ago by the Roman emperor for spending the last years of his life.

  In the structure of the palace, there are many monuments :

-Cathedral of St. Duje which was built on the oldest building in the world - the mausoleum of Emperor Diocletian, named after the protector of the city of Split, the St. Duje.
-Peristyle which hosts many musical events
-the walls
-The palace of Diocletian is the only palace in the world that is inhabited today. Thus, the inhabitants of the city of Split on and live through every day.

Split is also an important port from where many ferries.
