istrie1Istria, which is called Croatian Zupanija Istarska is in the northwest of Croatia. It is located on a peninsula which has a shape reminiscent of India. Very close to Italy, it is a gateway for travelers coming into Italy. It is famous for its vineyards, medieval towns and fortified villages, and its charming small ports.
